The internet is once again in meltdown over a celebrity conspiracy theory, and this time the spotlight is on pop icon Selena Gomez. A leaked, though unverified, document allegedly from the JeffreyEpstein files, featuring a cryptic phrase, has reignited rumours that the real 'Who Says' singer is dead and has been secretly replaced.

Gomez's face in her 'In the Dark' music video did not help quench the speculations, as many claimed she looked unrecognisable. What began asscrutiny of the star's health and appearancehas spiralled into a full-blown debate over her identity.

Content creator Joysparkleshine recently sparked a massive debate on the platform by questioning the authenticity of the singer's current appearance and identity. In a viral clip, the creator associated Gomez with the late sex offender after the recent trove of Epstein files reportedly mentioned her.

'Not only did he get her too, but he did something unimaginable to her,' Joy said. The TikToker also presented side-by-side comparisons of Gomez's younger self against her most recent public appearances.

'This literally looks like an entirely different face structure,' the creator noted while examining footage from aRare Beautypromotion.

Thevideo's commentsbecame a breeding ground for even more radical suggestions. A significant number of users noted that the woman in the video bore a striking resemblance to another Hollywood veteran. Many claimed the person on screen was actually Geena Davis, suggesting that a lookalike had been standing in for the singer at high-profile events.

'It's Geena Davis,' one commented. Another added, 'That's Geena Davis, the real Selena is gone now.'

@SlowBrewedTruths admitted that they were also 'falling down the rabbit hole.' According to them, they watched both Gomez and Davis' interviews and noticed that the former has been using the same words and hand gestures as the latter. 'Selena didn't use to move around so much during interviews,' the commenter wrote.

👀 Where is Selena Gome?! What did he do to her?! These videos are all alleged for entertainment purposes only no facts just commentary, questions and opinions on trending topics..#selena#selenagomez#fyp#foryou

A screenshot circulating on social media showed Epstein's email to someone, whose email address was redacted, on 21 July 2017. In the correspondence, Epstein wrote, 'sorry, you would have fun. A0 he has decided on Selena Gomez.' Many took the word 'diecided' as a hint that the real Selena Gomez was gone.
