A phone call to C-SPAN has gone viral after a man claiming to be “John Barron from Virginia" delivered a near-perfect imitation of former US President Donald Trump, just hours after the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s tariffs.

The moment unfolded when C-SPAN opened its phone lines following the court’s decision, inviting viewers to share their reactions. Host Greta Brawner introduced the caller, saying, “John in Virginia, Republican, let’s hear from you," before the man began speaking.

As soon as he started, social media users were quick to react. The caller’s tone, phrasing and mannerisms closely mirrored Trump’s speaking style. Trump had famously used the alias “John Barron" in the 1980s and 1990s while speaking to journalists.

“This is John Barron," the caller began. “Look, this is the worst decision you ever have in your life, practically. And Jack’s gonna agree with me, right? But this is a terrible decision. And you have Hakeem Jeffries, who — he’s a dope! And you’ve have Chuck Schumer, who can’t cook a cheeseburger. Of course these people are happy! Of course these are people happy, but true Americans will not be happy.

And you have the woman earlier — I assume she’s a woman, she’s a Democrat — but she’s … devastated by this," John Barron said.

The impersonation quickly spread across social media platforms, with many users expressing disbelief at how closely the caller matched Trump’s voice and style. Some described it as uncanny, while others said it felt like listening to the former president himself.

The Supreme Court’s ruling had earlier dealt a significant blow to Trump’s tariff policy, prompting strong reactions from supporters and critics alike. However, it was the unexpected “John Barron" call that ended up dominating online conversations.
