Protesters argued with community leaders over the situation with policing and restrictions outside Delaney Hall.
Protesters who were kettled and arrested the previous day were released and cheered by the gathered crowd.
Curfew remained in place, and the group was eventually led to a "designated protest area" further away from the facility than the previous night.

In May and early June 2026, after a hunger and labor strike was declared among detainees at the Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, several weeks of contentious Anti-ICE Protests were held outside of the facility.
The situation evolved nearly every day for about 2 weeks, as the protests grew and tactics among protesters and law enforcement changed.
