Day Nine of the Anti-ICE Protests outside of Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center. A large Union Picket was held at the corner of Doremus Ave and Wilson Ave, which was the closest intersection protesters could get to Delaney Hall after State and Local Police set up barriers to restrict access to the front of the facility. A curfew was implemented for a quarter-mile radius around Delaney Hall beginning at 9pm. A protest medic warned people to leave ahead of the curfew. After 9pm, Police in riot gear and on horseback charged the protesters, arresting several. Then after a lengthy standoff, Police surrounded and kettled the remaining protesters and arrested everyone, except for credentialed journalists who were given special dispensation by the Governor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In May and early June 2026, after a hunger and labor strike was declared among detainees at the Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, several weeks of contentious Anti-ICE Protests were held outside of the facility. The situation evolved nearly every day for about 2 weeks, as the protests grew and tactics among protesters and law enforcement changed.
