All Moscow airports — Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky — were shut down as a precaution on Sunday amid a drone attack targeting the Russian capital, according to Russian state broadcaster RT.
Russia’s aviation regulator Rosaviatsia later said the four airports had imposed flight restrictions for security reasons as air defence systems were activated.
At least seven drones were shot down while heading toward Moscow, Interfax reported, citing Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
