In what may be the most humiliating political fumble in Chicago's disaster-filled history, Mayor Brandon Johnson watched helplessly as the Chicago Bears rejected his phone call and announced they're resuming talks with Indiana after his laughably weak pitch to keep them in the city.

When a reporter asked Johnson what evidence he had that the Bears should stay in Chicago, the Democrat mayor straightened his face and delivered his 'case' — the Chicago Bears belong in Chicago because they are called the Chicago Bears. That was it. That was his entire argument.

The whole country watched a mayor of a major American city argue that a team name constitutes a business case. Hours later, the Bears made it clear what they thought of that logic by ignoring Johnson's calls and heading straight back to Indiana negotiations.

This isn't just about football, Patriots. The Bears' flight to Indiana is the latest chapter in the complete collapse of Democrat-run Illinois under Governor JB Pritzker's disastrous reign. Since Pritzker took office, Illinois has hemorrhaged 1.2 million residents while he raised taxes and fees more than 50 times.

Here's the kicker: Pritzker spent nearly three billion dollars on illegal immigrants while refusing to bridge a measly $700 million infrastructure gap that would have kept the Bears in state. As former Governor Rod Blagojevich perfectly put it, Pritzker got outplayed by Indiana's governor because his priorities are pandering to the lunatic fringe instead of serving working people.

Meanwhile, Johnson has turned Chicago into a crime-ridden wasteland. He removed the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system calling it 'racist,' implemented cashless bail, and now presides over a city that ranks 38th out of 50 in crime among major American cities.

The Magnificent Mile sits mostly empty, and now the Bears are following the corporate exodus to a state where taxes are lower, unions are flexible, fans are safer, and leadership actually wants them there.

This is what happens when progressive governance meets economic reality, folks. How many more wake-up calls do these Democrat cities need before they realize their policies are destroying America?
