Several state lawmakers are demanding answers in the investigation into a man’s fatal shooting by National Guard soldiers in downtown Memphis.
“The reason I’ve been against the occupation in Memphis since Day 1 was because we knew this would happen,” state Rep. Justin J. Pearson (D-Memphis) said in a video statement. “This is the fourth instance since the Memphis Un-Safe Task Force has been in our community that an American citizen has been killed by someone who’s a part of that task force.”
