A young boy who allegedly murdered his adoptive father in January over a Nintendo Switch was in court on Thursday in handcuffs.

Clayton Dietz, 11 years old, is facing charges as an adult for criminal homicide. He allegedly shot his father while he was asleep on January 13th, which was the child’s birthday.

The family lived in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, which is north of Harrisburg.

Dietz was in the custody of probation officers as he was heading to the Perry County courthouse for his hearing on Thursday.

Clayton Dietz is being charged as an adult with criminal homicide after he shot his father dead in his bed on Jan. 13 — the child’s birthday — in Duncannon, Pa., north of Harrisburg.

The bespectacled boy, surrounded by probation officers, appeared to be tripping over himself as he walked into the Perry County Courthouse for a hearing Thursday afternoon, shocking videofrom WHP shows.

“Clayton, who was adopted in 2018, shot 42-year-old Douglas Dietz with a revolver he found in the dad’s safe, according to prosecutors.”New York Post Reported.

Clayton told authorities that he found the keys to the firearm safe while he was looking for his Nintendo Switch, which was confiscated and was in the safe with the gun.

The police responded at approximately 3:20 am on January 13th and found Douglas Dietz in bed with a gunshot wound to his head. Court documents revealed that Clayton was screaming after he shot his father.
