Early speculative Freemason and founding fellow of the Royal Society, Elias Ashmole, was an ardent astrologer and it is incontestable that the early speculative lodges of Accepted Masons (i.e., those who were not actual stonemasons) in the 17th century, were populated by astrologers,[1]who royalty has always favored. Jeffrey Epstein’s twisted “Pedophile Island’’ of Little Saint James and his mysterious “temple,” was based on the style of a popular bathhouse in Aleppo, Syria, used by Sabbatean crypto-Jews during the Ottoman Empire, with an elaborate ceiling mural depicting signs of the zodiac, as I explained in my latest book,TheRise and Fallof aFrankist Monster: Exposing Jeffrey Epstein and The Most Powerful Jewish Sect in the World,

TheNew York Postreported this on December 22, 2025, when they wrote:“Sicko financier Jeffrey Epstein’s twisted ‘Pedophile Island’ included an unnerving ‘temple’-like building featuring an elaborate ceiling mural depicting signs of the zodiac and a pair of ratty mattresses.[…] The cube-like building, adorned in Grecian-style blue-and-white stripes, was erected at the highest point of his sprawling private enclave in the US Virgin Islands, flanked by palm trees and positioned overlooking the sea on a two-tier stone terrace decorated with bold pink geometric shapes.”

Now, astronomy and astrology are the foundations behind many religious teachings of today, but there is much more to Epstein’s seemingly “weird” astrological reference in his temple. Many traditional Jewish Kabbalists believe in a form of astrology known asMazalotorMazzalot, which means viewing the stars and zodiac signs as spiritual channels that transmit divine energy. Both terms refer to celestial bodies or constellations, though they appear in different biblical contexts and have distinct historical usage.Mazzaroth(מַזָּרוֹת)appears only once in the Bible (Job 38: 32) and is generally interpreted as referring to constellations or the zodiac signs.Mazalot(מַזָּלוֹת), also spelledmazzarotormazzalot—which appears in 2 Kings (23: 5), and is widely understood in Jewish tradition to refer to the twelve signs of the zodiac or planets.

However, Jewish interpretations differ from predictive, fatalistic astrology, as Kabbalah teaches, that spiritual actions such as prayer, charity, and Torah study can allow a person to transcend theirMazal(“constellation”) influence. Since ancient times, theMazalothave been viewed as intermediaries in the cosmic order, each associated with a specific Hebrew month, a tribe of Israel, and distinct spiritual qualities.

The Talmudic teachingein mazal l’Yisrael(Shabbat 156a) clarifies that while astrological signs may provide a “map” or incline a person toward certain traits, they do not dictate destiny. Jewish scholars such as Rashi and the Ramban explained that divine providence and human free will supersede the influence of the stars. Nevertheless, the termMazal Tovthat gained widespread cultural use in Hebrew, meaning “good fortune” or “good sign,” originates in astrology, and a zodiac wheel consisting of two concentric circles, with the twelve zodiac signs appearing in the outer circle, and Helios, the Greco-Roman sun god, appearing in the inner circle in the ancient former-Jewish synagogue ofBeth Alpha, located at the foot of the northern slopes of the Gilboa mountains near Beit She’an, in the Northern District of Israel, along with other similar examples found in contemporaneous synagogues throughout Israel such asNaaran,Susiya,Hamat Tiberias, Huseifa, andSepphoris, still rest at the center of a scholarly debate regarding the true relationship and influence between Judaism and general Greco-Roman culture in late-antiquity,[2]that is obviously referenced in Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Saint James’ temple. That’s because the Sabbatian and Frankist movements within Judaism also incorporate forms of astrology, including the concept ofMazzarothand astrological symbolism, as part of their mystical and often antinomian practices, which I’ve outlined inThe Rise and Fall of a Frankist Monster.

However, while traditional Judaism often cautions against astrology, the Sabbatians utilized it to interpret the times, the divine, and the coming of their messiah, Sabbatai Zevi. Afterward, the Frankists used astrological symbolism not only to define their leader, but also to describe the journey of Jacob and his followers’ through “the abyss” to redemption, as part of their “redemption through sin” philosophy originally at the heart of the Sabbatian movement.

After all, Zevi’s name was linked to the planet Saturn (Shabbataiin Hebrew), whose connection with Satan is well known and rooted in occult symbolism, astrotheology, and Gnostic belief systems. But there is also another interesting point made by the esoteric and alternative researcher B.R. Taylor, author ofMetaphysics of the Gods, who says that as we enter this new Age of Aquarius, the shared rulership of Saturn and Uranus would create a whole new array of energy vibrations influencing our consciousness. “This would set the scene for a very interesting future,” claims Taylor “and anyone aligning themselves with the energetic characteristics of Saturn, would inevitably control the reins of power” in what he defines as “The Saturnisation of humanity.”

For the Illuminati and certain occult Freemasons involved in esoteric, mystical, or magical traditions linked to the Sabbatian Frankists, Judaism grew out of star-worshipping cults in the area known as Canaan, to become one of the first groups to focus their attention on Saturn. As we progressed through the Age of Pisces Christians adopted Jupiter, the planet of faith, optimism, and good fortune, while Islam chose Venus. As these different groups drifted away from a balanced polytheistic approach to star worship, each promoting their tradition as superior, tensions grew between opposing factions, setting the stage for future division. Over the centuries, controlling elites have used this division as a mechanism to steer all concerned towards a greater centralization of power. As Saturn is the planet associated with control, those idolizing its energetic frequencies are set to become masters over the rest.

In Jewish tradition, the “reign of Saturn,” is also indicated as the highest planet, and for this reason is frequently associated with the arrival of the Messiah, and Zevi’s birth onTisha B’Av(the 9th of Av,) which was viewed by his heretical followers as a significant astrological and historical sign of his perceived redemptive role. While Jacob Frank’s later teachings (recorded circa 1784–1790) blended the antinomianism of the Sabbatian legacy with Western Esotericism and astrology that included the use of magic, the study of immortal beings, and positioning himself and his “Holy Virgin” consort within a syncretic myth that utilized Kabbalistic and astrological symbols to signify worldly power and physical transformation. Out of these Sabbatian Frankists astrological beliefs came not only in Epstein’s obsession for the Zodiac, but also the obsession of those who preceded him in the New York elite, that built the little known Zodiac Club, an exclusive 158-year-old secret society based in New York City, made up of only 12 members at the time that counted amongst its past members,J.P. Morgan(John Pierpont Morgan Sr.) andJ.P. Morgan Jr.(John Pierpont Morgan Jr., also known as “Jack,” who were both known in the Zodiac Club as “Brother Libra.”
