Former late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien has made his first public comments on the murder of director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, who were killed just hours after attending his holiday party.

AsThe Gateway Punditpreviously reported, Rob and Michele Reiner were stabbed to death, allegedly by their son, Nick Reiner, at their Los Angeles home on December 14.

Hours before the gruesome murder took place, Rob, Michele, and Nick all attended O’Brien’s Holiday party on the night of December 13.

O’Brien, in an interview with theNew Yorkeron the topic of Reiner’s death, shared, “My wife and I were seeing them a lot, and they were just such lovely people.”

He added, “And to have that experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone.”

Conan O’Brien is sharing his shock over the deaths of his good friends Rob and Michele Reiner.

Hours before the When Harry Met Sally… filmmaker, 78, and his photographer-producer wife Michele, 70, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14 — and their son Nick arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder — all three Reiners attended O’Brien’s Dec. 13 holiday party.

“I knew Rob and Michele, and then increasingly got closer and closer to them,” O’Brien, 62, said in a new interview with The New Yorker, adding that he and his wife, Liza Powel O’Brien, “were seeing them a lot.”
