Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor update:Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the final 27-km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor on Sunday (February 22). Once the entire 82.15-km corridor is opened, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor will become the country’s first fully operational Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. At present, 55 km of the total 82.15 km stretch – from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South – is operational.
The Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor has a total of 16 stations, of which 11 are currently operational. Here’s the complete station list:
Namo Bharat Corridor: 16 Stations
Corridor Overview:The Namo Bharat corridor features 16 stations with diverse designs - 13 Elevated stations, 2 Underground stations (Anand Vihar & Begumpul), and 1 At Grade station (Duhai Depot). The corridor connects Delhi to Meerut, enhancing regional connectivity.
Once the full Delhi–Meerut RRTS corridor becomes operational, Namo Bharat trains will run every 10 minutes, improving from the current 15-minute frequency. The high-speed service will cover the entire 82 km stretch between Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and Modipuram in Meerut in about 58 minutes.
This marks a major reduction in travel time, as conventional road or rail journeys on the same route can take up to three hours depending on traffic and congestion.
The Namo Bharat fare system is distance-based, catering to both regular commuters and passengers seeking premium comfort.
The network continued to expand in phases. On March 6, 2024, another 17 km stretch up to Modi Nagar North was opened to commuters. The corridor was subsequently extended to Meerut South on August 18, 2024, adding 8 km and widening its operational footprint. Most recently, on January 5, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a further 13 km section linking Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi.
