Punch- the adorable six-month-old Japanese macaque- is currently all that everyone can talk and WORRY about. After getting inspired by the ‘Penguin who chose his own fate’, it's theJapanesemacaque that is ruling not just Japan but the rest of the world as well. For context, Punch began to gain internet support after videos showed him getting bullied after being introduced to other monkeys at theIchikawa City Zoo. To worsen the situation, Punch turned out to be an abandoned baby after his mother refused to accept him.
What followed were multiple videos of Punch struggling to get accepted by others at the zoo- which was quick to leave the entire internet heartbroken.
The little one only gained more attention after his pictures and videos of trying to get comfort from a stuffed toy- a plush orangutan- began to float around on social media. All in all, netizens were losing it over Punch not getting the “love he deserves”. However, just recently, another video came forward, which left everyone celebrating!
A video was shared on social media, which showed Punch finally getting accepted and getting hugged by another adult monkey. Several other videos also showed him getting playful with other baby monkeys after getting accepted by the troop members. A clip of monkeys grooming Punch also went viral, garnering love from all across the world.
“After enduring days of rejection, Baby Punch finally experienced the comfort of love. Today, the adult monkey Onsing drew little Punch into a firm, deeply reassuring embrace,” the post read.
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘dondawastaken’. The viral post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 2M views from people.
“Today, Punch-kun is full of love… getting hugged and groomed a lot. Seeing him gradually fitting into the group little by little, I'm really so glad. Yesterday was tough, but today is packed with healing! Please stay happy forever, Punch-kun,” a user said.

“Today, the adult Onsingi gave Punch a really tight hug,” added another person. “My baby finally got the love he’s been needing this whole time. This makes my heart feel so full,” commented another person in the comment section.
“Today's Punch-kun won even when other monkeys picked on him! Go for it, Punch! Don't lose, Punch!” added another. “I believe we all need an Onsing in our lives. That grown monkey showed little Punch that after the rain, the sun still shines. Pure kindness,” wrote the next.
