The former Victoria’s Secret CEO testified before the House Oversight Committee about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, including how he initially came to trust him as a financial adviser.

Wexner, the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret, was sworn in Tuesday for what reports describe as a nearly five-hour deposition. According toCNBC’s report on the testimony, Wexner denied witnessing or having knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct during the time they were associated.

During questioning, Wexner explained how he initially came to trust Epstein with his financial affairs. He said he viewed Epstein as experienced, citing “his experience at an industrial level, like working at a big company like Bear Sterns, and his personal work for the Rothschild Family in France.”
Wexner further testified, “Specifically, I spoke to Élie de Rothschild. I mentioned that earlier. So he represented their whole family.”
