Police said Kumar’s long-standing suspicions dated back two years to a family trip to Sabarimala, when he became fixated on his wife interacting with a hired driver.
After the killing, Kumar contacted his son to confess the crime and stated that he too wanted to end his life. The son rushed to the house just in time to prevent his father from hanging himself and alerted the Govindarajanagar police. Officers subsequently detained Kumar, provided him with medical attention, and placed him under formal arrest.
