Clayton Dietz, who was adopted in 2018, shot his 42-year-old father Douglas Dietz with a gun he found in his safe. According to court documents, the incident occurred on Jan. 13 at the family’s home in Duncannon.
Police say Clayton found the keys to the gun safe while searching for the game system, which his father had taken away from him. During an interview with troopers, Clayton’s mother revealed he told her, “I killed my dad. I hate myself", local outlet WHP reports.
When being questioned what he believed would occur if he pulled the trigger, Clayton reportedly said he didn’t think much about the consequences, said the report.
