Somalia:A passenger plane with 50 onboard crashed at Aden Abdulle International Airport shortly after takeoff, Somali officials said. The flight was operated by Starsky Airline and was bound for Galkayo. According to reports, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority said that the aircraft suffered a technical malfunction immediately after takeoff, forcing the pilot to return to Mogadishu. While landing, the flight veered off the runway and came to rest near the shoreline. According to X portal RussiaNews, the plane crashed on the Mogadishu beach and fortunately all 50 passengers survived the accident.
The pilot was not able to control the flight at the touchdown after the emergency landing, according to Somalia Aviation Director General Ahmed Moalim Hassan.
Soon after the crash-touchdown, emergency response teams rushed to the scene to save the passengers. Visuals surfaced from the crash site showed plane at the beach that is adjacent to the airport.

The plane had taken off from the Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu and was bound for the northern city of Gaalkacyo when it developed a problem about 15 minutes after takeoff, said Ahmed Moalim, director of Somalia’s Civil Aviation Authority.

During the attempt to bring the plane back down, the aircraft veered off the runway and ended up at the nearby shoreline of the Indian Ocean, Moalim said. The airline, Starsky Aviation, did not immediately comment about the incident.
Somalia's aviation authorities said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
