Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger campaigned as a reasonable moderate who would bring common-sense leadership to the Commonwealth. What she's delivered instead is a masterclass in progressive deception that's leaving Old Dominion families reeling.

In just weeks since taking office, the so-called "moderate" has systematically dismantled every successful policy left by popular Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin, proving once again that you simply cannot trust a Democrat's campaign promises.

Spanberger's radical transformation includes rescinding Youngkin's common-sense education reforms that put parents back in charge of their children's schooling. She's also kneecapped Virginia's cooperation with federal immigration enforcement – because apparently protecting illegal aliens is more important than protecting Virginia families.

But perhaps most telling is her immediate injection of discriminatory affirmative action policies into state government hiring. So much for judging people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.

The timing couldn't be more suspicious. With Spanberger tapped to deliver the Democrat response to President Trump's State of the Union address, party leaders clearly see her as their great moderate hope to counter Trump's America First agenda.

Here's the uncomfortable truth Democrats don't want you to know: there are no moderate Democrats left. The radical wing has completely captured the party, and politicians like Spanberger are just better at hiding their true colors until after Election Day.

While President Trump delivers real results for working Americans – secure borders, energy independence, and government accountability – Democrats like Spanberger are busy playing identity politics and rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigration.

Virginians deserve better than this bait-and-switch governance. They voted for a moderate and got a progressive activist instead. The question now is whether Virginia patriots will remember this betrayal come the next election cycle, or if Democrats will successfully gaslight them into forgetting Spanberger's radical first act as governor.
