June 29th, 2026 - Queens, NY: At approximately 11:50 p.m., emergency crews responded to the upper level of the Long Island Expressway between exits 16 (BQE) and 17 (Maurice Ave.) for a two vehicle accident that possibly involved a private bus, unknown if coach type or smaller, that flipped on side and destroyed a good portion of the center median.
Several victims were pulled from the wreckage with two declared dead at the scene, three in critical condition, and up to 15 in varying degrees of injury from serious to stable condition.
