Ranveer Singhis facing a major security threat. According to reports, theDhurandharactor has received a threatening voice note demanding crores of rupees in ransom. The security outside the 40-year-old actor has been beefed up, Mumbai Police said. The shocking incident comes days after shots were fired outside Rohit Shetty's residence, creating a situation of fear for all the industry peers.
Following the threatening voice note, the couple quickly arranged for six armed security personnel to be stationed outside their residence. The move, however, caused unease within their housing society. In an official letter to the Dadar Police Station, the society’s managing committee flagged serious concerns over armed guards being present in shared areas.
The committee said that the presence of armed personnel in common areas such as the lobby, gym and children’s play zone has unsettled residents. In its open letter, it asked the police to check whether the couple had the required permissions for deploying armed security. Meanwhile, a uniformed police officer remains posted at the building, and the Mumbai Crime Branch continues its efforts to track the extortionist’s digital trail.
The Mumbai Crime Branch investigation revealed that the vehicle used in the firing was sourced from Pune. It belonged to a local man who had sold it for Rs 30,000 to Aditya Gayki, one of the arrested accused.
Police said Gayki and another accused, Samarth Pomaji, later abandoned the vehicle at a pre-decided spot in Juhu. Investigators claim the shooter was instructed by Shubham Lonkar to collect the vehicle and open fire. As per the Crime Branch, the crime followed a familiar pattern where multiple small groups are used, with each kept unaware of the others.
