UPI Down: A major technical disruption hit Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services across India on Tuesday evening, leaving many users unable to complete digital payments. Data from Downdetector.in is currently showing more than 250 complaints, with users reporting failed transactions and access issues across multiple apps.
As per information available on Downdetector at the time of writing, the outage tracker has recorded 413 complaints. Among those affected, 82 percent of users reported being unable to make payments, 12 percent said they were facing problems while scanning QR codes and the remaining 6 percent experienced issues with fund transfers.
The number of complaints has now climbed to nearly 600. Downdetector’s outage map shows that the disruption is widespread, with users in major cities such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Bengaluru reporting heavy impact from the UPI outage.

Unified Payments Interface, is an instant digital payment system created by the National Payments Corporation of India and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. It allows users to send or receive money directly between bank accounts using mobile apps, without charging any transaction fee from NPCI.
UPI is used for everything from daily shopping payments to high value bank transfers. It also offers AutoPay, a feature that lets users set up automatic payments for bills, subscriptions, and other recurring expenses.

-Dial *99# from the mobile number linked to your bank account.
-A menu will appear with banking options such as sending money, checking balance, viewing transactions, and managing your UPI PIN.
-Choose the option to send money by entering the corresponding number and pressing send.
