The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today (February 20) conducted the Physics exam for Class 12 board exams. Students and experts have said that while the exam was easy, some portions of the exam were tougher than the rest. Sonakshi, a class 12 student from DAV Noida, toldTimes Now DigitalSection A was tougher in Set 3. There were many derivations, and a lot of questions were similar to previous year questions (PYQs). The 3-hour duration was sufficient, and I even had extra time for revision."
Tanvi, class 12 student from Cambridge School Noida, shared that she found section E to be easier as compared to the other sections. "The MCQs were moderate. Section C (3-mark questions) was lengthy. If I had a little more time, I would have done even better," she said.
Another DAV Noida student, Tanishka, who appeared for the set 1 of Physics exam today said that the question paper was a bit too lengthy. "The derivations were decent and not too difficult. All sections were fine overall. However, the 3-hour duration was not enough for me, and I couldn’t revise my answers," she added. She will also be appearing for JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exams in April.

Some experts have also added that JEE aspirants might have found the exam to be easier. "JEE aspirants in particular appeared confident, as the paper aligned well with their preparation and they were largely satisfied with their performance," said Vijay Giri, Physics teacher at Satya School, Gurugram.
However, this was not suitable for every student. "The paper did not seem entirely framed keeping in mind the aptitude of Biology students. Some questions felt comparable to JEE-level application, as discussed among classmates. However, it was not designed to make students fail. It was an average to moderate paper, though students with strong mathematical understanding may have found it easier," said Daniel from Global Indian International School, Noida.
- Siddhi Mishra, Global Indian International School, Noida
Overall, the paper was well-designed with several derivations that made it a bit lengthy, but it was manageable and we were able to complete it confidently.
- Ishika Jain, Class 12, Witty International School Udaipur
Many other students found set to be tougher than other sets. "This time, I noticed that many questions were competency-based, with fewer direct questions," Tanishi, a class 12 student shared. She also agreed that the question paper felt more lengthy, but clarified that she still got time to revise her answers. She also added that the exam "had more conceptual questions", and students like her should be able to score in Sections D and E were scoring, "while Sections B and C were comparatively difficult".
