Minneapolis is home to approximately 40,000 Somalians. Minnesota is home to an estimated 75,000 to 107,000 people of Somalian descent, representing roughly 78% of the total Somali population in the United States.

Every summer, Somalians set up a festival on Lake Street to celebrate their country's independence from British, Italian and French Colonialism. Vendors set up their tents. Musicians perform in a band shell. Camel rides are offered to young and old alike. Children get to ride the ponies. It's an event for the whole family.

During the Juneteenth celebration that CPI members Penny and Gary recently held, a Somalian man invited them to attend the event. So, Gary and Penny brought their Hands Off Africa: Hands Off Traoré sign with Hands off Uhuru on the reverse side.

Many of the Somalians passing by gave a thumbs up or agreed to share their thoughts on camera. Others had never heard of him.

Gary and Penny passed out palm cards that saidIran is Not Our Enemy. Everyone who took a card agreed. Iran is not our enemy.

Even the Christian evangelists were receptive to our message about Ibrahim Traoré liberating his people through economic development.

Although the Somalians have received a lot of negative press lately, they continue to live and work in the community as they have for decades.

We at the Center for Political Innovation understand that the Globalists/Imperialists are responsible for destabilizing Somalia and fomenting perpetual war. Israel recently recognized the breakaway region of Somaliland on the coast of the Red Sea to counter the Houthis in Yemen.

CPI has a book about the anti-imperialist movement that the Houthis in Yemen lead:Who Are the Houthis? What Are They Fighting For?

CPI supports the complete liberation of Africa.
