The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday released a 37-second video showing American forces carrying out strikes against Iran, describing the operation as a response to Tehran's attack on a commercial cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

The strikes came a day afterIranallegedly attacked the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely with a one-way attack drone while the vessel was exiting theStrait of Hormuzalong the Omani coast.

In a statement accompanying the video, CENTCOM said the attack on the commercial ship was an "unwarranted aggression" that violated the ceasefire and threatened freedom of navigation through one of the world's most critical maritime trade routes.

"US aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites after Iran hit M/V Ever Lovely on June 25 with a one-way attack drone," CENTCOM said.

It added that American forces continue to coordinate and support the safe passage of commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

"The US military remains present and vigilant to ensure all aspects of the agreement with Iran are adhered to, obeyed, and in full force and effect," the statement said.

The 37-second footage released by CENTCOM shows precision strikes carried out, though no further operational details or the locations of the targets were disclosed.

After the United States launched airstrikes on Iranian military targets, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that it had targeted US military positions in the region in retaliation, IRNA News Agency reported on Friday. Ebrahim Azizi, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, said that the US does not commit to a ceasefire, and the blame game does not work anymore.

In a post on X, he said, "The U.S. attacked Iran in the middle of negotiations once again. The failed U.S. President has shown he has no commitment to the principles of negotiation or a ceasefire. This reckless violation of the ceasefire will, as always, lead to retreat and regret on their part. The blame game does not work anymore."

The latest exchange comes only days after Washington and Tehran agreed to halt hostilities following weeks of military confrontation.
