US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Friday spoke on New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil and the imposition of tariffs imposed by the United States on India. Clarifying the US’s stance, Gor said the action taken by President Donald Trump was not only about India, but he wants to end the Ukraine war and therefore, doesn’t want anyone to buy oil from Russia.
“On the oil, there’s an agreement. We have seen India diversify its oil. There is a commitment. This is not about India. The United States doesn’t want anyone buying Russian oil. The President has been very clear on this and wants this war to end," Gor said while speaking on the sidelines of an event at the AI Impact Summit.
