A missing skier has been found dead at a Lake Tahoe resort — just days after eight werekilled by an avalanche in the backcountrynearby.
Colin Kang’s body was discovered at the black diamond Sugar Pine Glade trail at Northstar California Resort on Thursday after he went missing around noon on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old San Jose State University student was the third person to die at the site in the last two weeks, though details of the incident were unclear.
It comes aftereight people were killedin a huge avalanche at Castle Peak — a 30-minute drive away — as a huge snowstorm battered the region on Tuesday.
Kang was reported missing by his college ski team at around 11pm on Wednesday. Cops found his car in the Northstar parking lot.
The Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team deployed 15 skiers, a snowcat and two snowmobilers and found his body on the expert trail around 9am Thursday.
Northstar California manager Tara Schoedinger said: “We are heartbroken by this loss. Our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones, and with the team members who had the privilege of working alongside him.”

Stuart McLaughlin, 53, waskilled at Northstar on Sundayand Nicholas Kenworthy, 26, died on an expert run on Feb. 12.
The latest death at a Tahoe resort follows the horrific avalanche at Castle Peak, near Truckee, where 15 backcountry skiers were smashed by the slide on Tuesday.
