ThePakistan Cricket Board (PCB)is reportedly not happy with Shadab Khan's remark against Pakistan legends. Khan, reacting to the criticism by former players, especially Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousuf, said that they were legends, but couldn't do what the current team was able to do - beat India in a World Cup. Shadab, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi were part of the team that defeated India in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Shadab'sremark stirred a storm in Pakistan, and the board asked the all-rounder to mind his language during the ongoing T20 World Cup.

"Naveed Cheema, the Pakistan team manager, has called to convey to Shadab that he was out of his limits in the press conference on Wednesday night. Shadab should know that all former players - including his father-in-law, Saqlain Mushtaq - are respectable and are greats of Pakistan. Shadab should respect them and should not use such language,"sources told Telecom Asia Sport.

The report claimed that Cheema has been advised by the board to tell players to stay in limits or action will be taken against them.

Saqlain was not the only former player to slam Shadab Khan. Earlier, Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal also came down heavily on the all-rounder. Basit didn't mince words and said that former players like Saqlain used to carry Shadab-like players in his pocket, while Akmal said that the comments were uncalled for.

"Saying such words against former players warrants caution," Kamran was quoted as saying in the report.

"Kya Saqlain match winner nahi tha?" questioned Basit Ali on a Pakistani TV show with Shoaib Malik. "Saqlain jaisa bowler tha na, Shadab jaise das uski jeb mein rehte hain. Abhi to ek hi hai. Das rehte hain, das. Ye main aapko bata raha hoon," he added.
