Aditya Dhar’sDhurandhar 2landed in trouble for violating safety norms set by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). During the recent shoot schedule in Mumbai, which was said to be patchwork, the cast and crew filmed on an old building terrace and used two generator vans without necessary permissions, along with gas cylinders, which violated regulations. Flagging it as a serious security lapse, the equipment was seized from the spot. As per the latest development,BMChas issued a show-cause notice toDhurandhar 2’s director Aditya Dhar and producer Lokesh Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios, along with two individuals named Komal Pokhriyal and Nasir Khan.

Confirming the same, Bhushan Gagrani, Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) told Bombay Times that since the issue is at the ward level, the civic body has sent a show-cause notice to the production house and hasn’t been blacklisted yet. He added that without hearingAdityaand Lokesh’s side, the studio can’t be blacklisted. Bhushan shared that the BMC is happy with the entertainment industry flourishing in Mumbai, but not at the cost of the safety of citizens. He assured that the matter would be solved in the coming days.

A source further shared with the news portal that the makers ofDhurandhar 2have sought necessary permissions to shoot the film in South Mumbai locations and were aware of the rules pertaining to the use of inflammables on sets. Despite assuring BMC that precautionary measures would be taken while filming, the crew violated them, putting many lives at risk.

Another source close toDhurandhar 2revealed that even if the production house is blacklisted later, someone else can apply for permissions so that the last-minute shoot is not affected.

Earlier this year, visuals fromDhurandhar 2’s set in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate went viral on social media. Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal were seen shooting for the film on real locations. Later, BMC raised an alarm after the crew shot for a portion on a building terrace and used two generator vans without necessary permissions. The civic body sent a letter to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) of Zone 1, the A ward office, demanding a penalty of Rs 1 lakh. BMC has already forfeited the production's Rs 25,000 security deposit. According to reports, gas cylinders were also used on the set for cooking, which violated regulations. The Mumbai police had to intervene when the team was caught burning torches in a high-security zone. Flagging it as a serious security lapse, the equipment was seized from the spot.
