A man has sustained horrific injuries after being shotwith a nail gunduring a terrifying robbery.

Shortly before 11pm on Saturday 20 June 2026,police officers in New South Wales, Australia, were alerted to reports of an assault. Emergency services were dispatched to a property on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth, to respond to the incident.

The number of individuals involved in the savage attack remains unclear, though officers were informed that a group of people stole cash from the victim.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Oxley Police District discovered a man in his 40s with nail gun wounds to his face, chest and hand. The victim, who has yet to be identified, was swiftly transported to Tamworth Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics for urgent treatment.

It has since been confirmed that the man sustained a fractured skull, lacerations to his head, and puncture wounds as a result of the brutal assault.

New South Wales Police are now appealing for information to assist with their ongoing investigation.

A statement published on their website read: "Police are appealing for information after a man was shot multiple times with a nail gun at a property in the state's northeast on the weekend.

"Emergency services were called to a home on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth, shortly before 11pm Saturday 20 June 2026, with reports of an assault.

"Officers attached to Oxley Police District arrived and found a man in his 40s with nail gun wounds to his face, chest and hand. The man was taken to Tamworth Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics for treatment of a fractured skull, lacerations to his head, and puncture wounds.

"Police were told a group of people stole cash from the man.
