The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has appealed to the Delhi Police to allow unhindered access to the ongoing demonstration at Jantar Mantar, alleging that basic facilities such as water and food were disrupted. The Delhi Police has assured that citizens will not be stopped from coming to the protest site.

"Since yesterday you’ve cut the water supply, didn’t allow food, water was not in the washroom. But now I request Delhi Police to not stop anyone coming from the protest. If this happens, I myself will come to the barricading. We are doing a peaceful protest. So, kindly help us by not stopping any citizens from coming to the protest site," Dipke said.

"Why are we treated as a terrorist? Peaceful protest is a constitutional right of any citizen. We are not breaking any law," he added.

Later, Dipke thanked the Delhi Police from the stage after the personnel assured that citizens would not be stopped from coming to the protest site.

Dipke also called on farmer unions to extend support to students. "I request all the farmers to support these kids. We all supported you. I appeal to all Kisan union to come to Jantar mantar and support us for the students who have committed suicide. If country's farmers and students get together, then Dharmendra Pradhan will have to resign. It’s farmer’s kids who have suffered the most," Dipke said.

The CJP founder and the outfit's supporters protested till late Saturday night at Jantar Mantar seeking the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protest began around 1 pm under heavy police deployment, CCTV surveillance, layers of barricades, and body-cam-wearing personnel moving through the site.

The stage wore a banner with the message reading "Peaceful protest, Dharmendra Pradhan must resign," while another banner paid tributes to NEET aspirants who died by suicide after the paper leak and consequent cancellation of the entrance exam.

Dipke, who renewed his call for Pradhan's resignation, was joined by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who announced that he would go on a hunger strike on June 27 if the minister does not step down.

The CJP founder also demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for families of those who died by suicide.
