With just a few hours left for the commencement of one of the most taxing entrance examinations in India, i.e., Re-NEET 2026, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stated that he has complete faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), the state governments, the district administrations, the education community of the country, and especially the students of India, while asking everyone to act responsibly at this critical juncture.

Addressing the press at a Yoga event attended at Delhi University, he said that more than 2.2 million students are going to appear forRe-NEETshortly. “I urge all of them to sit for the exam fearlessly and without anxiety. Remain calm and confident, and I am sure you will perform well,” he advised.

He also made a humble request to everyone, saying, “Please do not play with the future of India's new generation. No one should make a mockery of their aspirations. Please avoid doing anything that may negatively affect the mental health of these students.”

Emphasising the significance of this issue, he remarked that even in the past, some ‘so-called responsible people’ have acted with ill intentions and raised needless concerns.

At last, he requested all to act responsibly and support medical aspirants if they consider themselves dutiful citizens. “Let us protect the future of our children and ensure that they can take their examinations with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind,” he concluded.

The testing agency will conductRe-NEET 2026 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM today. The Centre has heightened security to ensure a leak-proof examination. Despite thousands of petitions urging the authorities to postpone the re-exam, NTA has decided to go ahead with India’s largest medical entrance test, for more than 22 lakh candidates.

TheNEET UG for 2026 was originally held on May 3, 2026. Following paper leak concerns, the Centre decided to scrap the medical entrance test on May 12, 2026, and announced a re-exam.
