Following reports of a Nagpur student being allotted an Abu Dhabi centre for Re-NEET 2026, the Director General of the National Testing Agency, Abhishek Singh, toldTimes Now Digitalthat the issue had been resolved. He added that the agency is probing how the candidate was allotted a foreign centre.

The issue came to light when aNEET aspirantwas mistakenly allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With only one day left before the examination, the student and his family were deeply concerned and filed a complaint with the NTA for grievance redressal.

Speaking to Times Now, NTA DG said that the city intimation slip was issued on June 7, and the admit cards were issued on June 14, 2026. “In this case, NTA is investigating how the candidate got Abu Dhabi as the centre,” he said, adding that the testing agency has spoken with the candidate, and the investigation will take time.

The DG further said that sometimes, candidates' passwords not being fully secure can become an issue. "Investigation will take time, but we wanted the child to give the exam. So, we are currently more focused on that. Meanwhile, an investigation will be conducted in this regard," Singh toldTimes Now Digital.

Earlier, Abdullah was allotted an examination centre in Nagpur itself. In his application, he had selected Nagpur and Wardha as his preferred exam cities.

Despite filling in his preferences, the testing agency assigned him a foreign centre instead of a local one. After seeing theRe-NEET admit card, the parents panicked and immediately lodged a complaint with the NTA helpline.

Narrating the whole scenario, Mohammad Talib, Abdullah’s father, said, “After the admit card was downloaded at 4 pm yesterday, we found the centre mentioned to be a school in Abu Dhabi. We were really shocked as we had not given anything as such in our options. We dialled the helpline number. They told us to send them an email. When we sent an email, we received a call that we would be issued a fresh admit card by 4 pm on Saturday. We had given three districts as options, but we now demand that Nagpur be given to us as the centre because he is shocked. There is no time to go to any other district. He cried a lot yesterday and did not even want to write the exam. But his mother tried to convince him. If he is convinced, he will appear for the exam. He does not even have a passport," to a news agency ANI.
