New Delhi:The war of words between the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena has turned nasty. Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut appeared to take a veiled swipe at the rival camp through a cryptic social media post on Saturday.

Raut shared an infographic on X that read, "Kuch log K****y toh hoty hain Lekin wafa'daar Nahi hoty" (Some are dogs, but they are not loyal).

The Rajya Sabha MP captioned the post with a brief message: "Jai Maharashtra!"

The post came a day after Shinde, while addressing party workers on the occasion of theShiv Sena's 60th foundation day, defended his 2022 rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray and claimed that the public had endorsed the split.

"People support the decision we took four years ago," Shinde said.

Taking a swipe at theUBT faction, Shinde added, "This tiger is in front of you. Kutte jhund main aake bhokte hai, sher akela ata hai (Dogs bark in packs, but a lion walks alone)."

The latest exchange comes amid growing speculation over "Operation Tiger" - an alleged move to engineer defections from the UBT camp. The buzz intensified after Shiv Sena MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi claimed that six UBT MPs had expressed confidence in Shinde and joined his faction.

Amid the reports, Raut on Thursday said show-cause notices had been issued to six absentee MPs, beginning the process of seeking their disqualification.

"The process for taking action has started," Raut said at a press conference.

He added, "We will make every effort to get them disqualified. If the Speaker of the Lok Sabha works according to the rules, the law, and the Supreme Court's directives, these people will be disqualified."
