Legendary writerSalim Khanis currently undergoing treatment at the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. He was admitted to the hospital on February 17 due to a minimal brain haemorrhage. Following this, a medical procedure was conducted. Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital had assured everyone that the 90-year-old was doing well after the procedure. It was shared that Khan was on ventilator support. According to a latest media report, Salman Khan's family has instructed the hospital staff not to share further updates on the writer's health.

A source close to the Khan family toldVariety Indiathat health is a private matter. Considering that, no updates should be shared and any communication should be left to the family, the source added. It has also been reported that Salman and his family were displeased with the Lilavati Hospital doctor's public statement. And now they have apparently conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed.

And while the hospital shares regular health updates about their celebrity patients, the authorities are rumoured to have agreed to Khan's family request to maintain confidentiality. "It can be understandable that there is immense public interest in Salim Saab’s well-being, but medical information is a confidential matter," the source added.

The report further suggests that the Khan family wants to avoid any unnecessary speculation or media scrutiny around their family member's health condition.

Meanwhile, Chitrangada Singh, Salman'sBattle of Galwanco-star, recently shared the legendary writer's health update. In an interview withIANS, the Bollywood actress that Salim Khan was doing well. She further wished him good health. Before this, Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital had shared detailed health update of the legendary writer. "A procedure called DSA was done this morning. No surgery was required. He is still on a ventilator," he said, in an official statement.

Salim Khan is one of the most celebrated writers of Indian cinema. In the 1970s, he and Javed Akhtar revolutionised the Hindi cinema with their writing. They collaborated on films likeZanjeer, Sholay, Don, Seeta Aur Geeta, and more. On the personal front, the writer is married to Salma Khan and Helen. He is blessed with five children - Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Agnihotri.
