New Delhi:Iran has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen Missions) alerting the aviation industry, airlines, and pilots to remain clear of the area over its airspace between ground level and FL100, warning that rockets may be launched during its military exercise.Tensions are escalating between the United States and Iranas the former ismobilising its military, including warships, jets, and other big weapons, as multiple reports suggest that America may attack Iran as early as in the next two weeks. The US has been against Iran’s nuclear program for decades, though the two nations have indulged in talks, with the latest round of negotiations in Geneva, but nothing conclusive has emerged out of it. Iran has been saying that its nuclear program is purely for civil purposes, but the United States has rejected this argument.

Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt while briefing the media on US-Iran development informed said, "the President has been clear with any country, diplomacy is his first option and Iran would be wise to make a deal with President Trump. He is talking to many people, including his national security team."

On Wednesday, Axios reports claimed that the United States may launch a full scale attack on Iran in the next two weeks. It suggested that the offensive against Tehran could be a one for a long haul and unlike Venezuela that ended in just one day.

The reports also claimed that Donald Trump's armada, sent for an imminent war on Iran, now includes two aircraft carriers, 12 warships, hundreds of fighter jets, and multiple air defense systems. It said that more than 150 US military cargo flights have moved weapons systems and ammunition to the Middle East.

As Iran prepares to deal a possible US attack, it temporarily suspended operations at the Strait of Hormuz, a 33-km long passage, that serves as a key route for cargo ships movement. It's a crucial passage for the world trade to run smoothly any long suspension of the route may prove disastrous for the global trade.

The Strait of Hormuz is a bending waterway, about 33 kilometers (21 miles) wide at its narrowest point. It connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman.

From there, ships can then travel to the rest of the world. While Iran and Oman have their territorial waters in the strait, it's viewed as an international waterway all ships can ply. The United Arab Emirates, home to the skyscraper-studded city of Dubai, also sits near the waterway.
