Six. That is how many timesTaylor Swifthas now won the IFPI Global Artist of the Year award. It is also how many times every other musician on the planet has won it combined over the past decade.

The International Federation of the Phonographic IndustryconfirmedSwift as its biggest-selling global artist for 2025 on Tuesday, 18 February. This marks her fourth consecutive win. But the stat that most outlets are burying tells the real story: Swift has matched the combined total of every other winner since the award began tracking a decade ago.

Drake, Bad Bunny, BTS,Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd. All of them, together, equal one Taylor Swift.

For the casual fan, awards blur together. Another trophy, another speech. But this one is different. The IFPI chart is not a popularity poll. It tracks actual sales, streaming figures, and digital downloads across more than 8,000 record labels worldwide. It measures who people are actually paying to hear.

Swift's 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' powered the 2025 win. The record debuted at number one on theBillboard 200for 12 weeks. The album's first single, 'The Fate of = Ophelia,' flooded streaming platforms. Her tour documentary, 'The End of an Era,' added to the momentum.

'Taylor Swift's sixth IFPI Global Artist of the Year award is a truly historic achievement,' said Victoria Oakley, chief executive of IFPI. 'The IFPI Global Artist Chart represents the teams and long-term commitment behind each release, ensuring fans around the world can connect with music in meaningful ways.'

Translation: Swift, 'The Music Industry', as what her fans call her, is not slowing down.

Here is where things get interesting. The IFPI announcement dropped just 10 days before the BRIT Awards in Manchester. Coincidence? Maybe not.

According to The Sun, Swift arrived in the UK this week with more than 20 people in tow. A source told the outlet she is 'hiding out in London' and is 'scheduled to visit Manchester,' where the ceremony will be held for the first time at Co-op Live on 28 February.

'Taylor was handed the Global Icon Award at the ceremony back in 2021 and has a huge amount of respect for the Brits. She loves it,' the source said.
