The man whodied after being carried away by floodwatersin San Bernardino was identified as a 55-year-old father.

The body of Edward Jozwiak was found about a mile from where rescuers first located himclinging to the roof of his truckTuesday night as heavy flooding engulfed his vehicle near Keenbrook Road and Cajon Boulevard, authorities said.

Shortly after he was discovered on Wednesday morning, his daughter took to social media to mourn her father.

“Tragically he was found this morning and will no longer be on this planet with us but up in heaven with my grandpa,” Vanasa Jozwiak wrote in a Facebook post, later sharing a link to a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for funeral services.

She added that her father “got stuck in a creek that is usually very mellow” while trying to get home, “but because of the weather that creek turned into a very strong moving river basically.”

The area where Jozwiak was swept away forms a natural creek bed and can be prone to flooding, officials noted.

On Tuesday night, he had been sitting on the roof of his truck in the Devore neighborhood as heavy rains pounded Southern California.
