The family business of Donald Trump applied for exclusive rights to use his name for airports and related travel services, saying the move is aimed at protecting the Trump brand rather than making money. According to the Associated Press, the Trump Organization- now run by Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump- filed trademark applications covering multiple versions of the US President’s name.

In filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the company sought exclusive rights to names including “President Donald J. Trump International Airport," “Donald J. Trump International Airport" and “DJT." The applications also cover a wide range of airport-related services and products, including passenger shuttle buses, luggage, umbrellas and flight suits.
