Twenty-eight faculty and staff members will retire from the Roslyn School District in 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to the school community.
The district recognized the retirees during a ceremony Thursday, June 4, in the Roslyn High School library. Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy presented commemorative plaques and thanked the honorees for their years of commitment to the district.
The 2026 retirees include district administrators and school leaders Scott Andrews and Craig Johanson, both principals, and Carol Murphy, an assistant principal.
Retiring teachers are Susan Elicks, John Figueroa, Loretta Fonseca, Patricia Frohnhofer, Betsy Hendler, Kerriann Jannotte, Jeannette O’Halloran, Nicole Palladino, Glenn Sherwood, Allyson Weseley and Laura Zenie.
Retiring teaching assistants are Joan Dirr, Jodi Imperato and Lori Maller.
Support staff retirees include Milta Matamoros, teacher aide; Nancy Cramer, stenographic secretary; and Gail Kennedy-Hoar, school counselor.
Transportation and operations retirees include Carmen Chavez, assistant dispatcher; Parnel Duverneau, bus driver; Herald Harris, bus driver; Adan Romero, cleaner and bus driver; Oscar Tobias, bus driver; and Rafael Gonzalez, bus driver.
Custodial and maintenance retirees are Desmond Vella, custodian, and Paul Cesarski Jr., head custodian.
