Locust Street for a registration violation around 4:49 p.m. on February 3.The suspect initially stopped, and then later drove off, causing police to chase since he was driving recklessly.The police pursuit ended when the driver got out of his vehicle near 98th and W. Lisbon Avenue and fled on foot toward a house.The body camera footage shows officers giving commands to drop the gun.The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Wippert of Milwaukee, died from gun shots at the hospital.Officers recovered the gun Wippert allegedly used.Two Milwaukee police officers–a 46-year-old male with over 10 years of service and a 40-year-old male with over 8 years of service–are on administrative duty during the investigation.The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team will be investigating this incident.
