A White House briefing took an unexpected turn when Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fielded questions about extraterrestrial life, following recent comments from former President Barack Obama and claims by the president's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. The exchange highlighted growing public fascination with government knowledge of aliens whilst underscoring the current administration's reluctance to engage seriously with the topic.

Karoline Leavitt dismissed suggestions that President Donald Trump has prepared remarks on alien disclosure, calling such a speech 'news to me' during the 19 February briefing. The question came after Lara Trump told Miranda Devine of theNew York Postthat the president 'has a prepared speech on this issue that he prepares to deliver at the right time', sparking speculation about a potential announcement regarding extraterrestrial life.

The buzz started whenObama sat down with Brian Tyler Cohen for his podcast. During their conversation, the former president dropped some pretty surprising comments about aliens that got people talking.

When asked directly if extraterrestrials are real, Obama responded, 'They're real,' before quickly clarifying, 'But I haven't seen them.' He dismissed long-standingconspiracy theories about Area 51, stating, 'They're not being kept at Area 51. There's no underground facility, unless there's this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States'.

Obamalater walked back his remarks, saying he had seen no evidence that aliens have made contact with Earth. His attempt to walk things back didn't really help. The internet had already latched onto his original remarks.

The whole thing has people once again questioning what the government really knows about UFOs and whether officials are being straight with us about unidentified aerial phenomena.

During her recent appearance on theNew York Post'sPod Force Onepodcast,Lara Trump suggested her father-in-law possesses undisclosed information about extraterrestrial life.

'I have just heard kind of around that he's actually said, my father-in-law has actually said it, that there is some speech that he has, that I guess at the right time...I don't know what the right time is...that he is going to break out and talk about, and it has to do with maybe some sort of extraterrestrial life, so to speak', she told host Miranda Devine.

Lara Trump, 43, acknowledged that when she and her husband Eric pressed the president on the topic, he didn't offer substantial details. Her comments represented the most specific claim yet from a Trump family member about potential alien-related disclosures.
