A 12-year-old girl from Massapequa was hospitalized Tuesday night after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Carmen Mill Road near Oakley Street, Nassau County police said.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m., according to detectives from Nassau County’s 12th Squad. Police said the girl was crossing the street when she was hit by a 2024 Acura SUV driven by a 75-year-old man.
Authorities said the driver remained at the scene following the crash.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said. Her identity has not been released.
Nassau County police said the investigation is ongoing.
