The board also approved theBarzola restaurant’sspecial use permits during its June 2 meeting. The restaurant will be expected to open soon at 12 Verbena Ave.

TheChamber of Commercewill host its annual street fair on June 5, welcoming local business owners to participate as vendors. The street fair will be open to the public from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. between Verbena and Plainview Avenue.

Local food vendors, music and face painting will line the street, and will give the public the chance to watch the village’s own Belmont Stakes horse race.

Residents will also be welcome to attend the semiquincentennial celebration on Saturday, June 20, hosted by the North End Civic Association. Community members are encouraged to pack their own picnic, and enjoy food and beer trucks, lawn games and a fireworks display.

The board also announced that Floral Park residents will be able to purchase a pool leisure pass, which will be open to the public beginning June 13, from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. during the summer months.

Passes will be available to purchase on theCommunityPassregistration system, but due to a recent change, the board announced that every household will need to make a new account.

Residents can visithttps://www.communitypass.netto log in and create their new account. Detailed instructions can be found in the2026 community booklet. Resident rates start at $575 for families and $130 for senior citizens. Non-resident families can purchase a pool pass for $780.

The village will also be offering two new youth programs at the pool: a new half-day summer program open to children ages five to 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m on weekdays, and a mini program from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for kids three to five, Monday through Thursday.

Families can expect lunch and snacks to be provided during programming, as well as transportation for daily pickup and drop-off. The cost for residents is $340 and $365 for non-residents.

During the meeting, the board also approved its general, capital and pool funds for a total of $225,828.24. The board also recognized Deputy Mayor Lynn Pombonyo’s recent accolade from the Town of Hempstead, which honored her with the2026 Make a Difference Award.
