Terror suspect Hufaiza will be brought to Delhi after the Thane Court on Wednesday granted his transit remand to Delhi Police. The court directed that Hufaiza be produced before the Patiala House Court in Delhi on June 5. Hufaiza had allegedly travelled to Delhi to carry out a grenade attack.
During the hearing, the court asked Hufaiza whether he was aware of the charges registered against him. Hufaiza replied that he was aware of the case against him.
The court also asked whether he had any complaints against the police or whether he had been assaulted in custody. Hufaiza stated that he had no complaints against the police.
Screenshots of WhatsApp chats were submitted before the court as part of the investigation.
Investigators informed the court that Pakistan-based handler Shahzad Bhatti was allegedly using social media platforms to radicalise and encourage Indian youths to join terrorist activities.
According to the investigation, Hufaiza was in direct contact with Shahzad Bhatti and used to communicate with him over phone calls.
Hufaiza had allegedly sent videos and photographs related to the demolition of the unauthorised mosque in Bandra to Pakistan-based handler Shahzad Bhatti, allegedly as part of a plan to avenge the demolition action.
