Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu’s office has released a medical report confirming that he does not have prostate cancer, dispelling recent rumours. The report states that Netanyahu is recovering from a urinary tract infection following surgery and details the procedures and recent tests he has undergone, according to The Jerusalem Post. The report is signed by Netanyahu’s personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Herman Berkowitz, urologist Prof. Alon Pikarsky of Hadassah Medical Center, and internal medicine and hypertension specialist Prof. Ehud Grossman. It confirms that the Israeli prime minister is in good health.

The report comes after several years without a detailed medical update on Netanyahu.

The report states that Netanyahu’s blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure are all within normal limits. It also notes that extensive lab tests, including blood counts, liver and kidney function, and electrolytes, show normal results.

Netanyahu is under ongoing cardiological monitoring. Prof. Roy Beinart, head of the Arrhythmia Institute at Sheba Medical Center, stated that since his pacemaker was implanted in July 2023, he has shown no signs of arrhythmias or other cardiac issues. The pacemaker is working properly, but Netanyahu does not rely on it.

"The prime minister is completely stable from a cardiac perspective and does not require any treatment beyond routine follow-up, as is standard for all pacemaker patients. There are no cardiac restrictions on any activities, including physical exercise,” Beinart said.

The report states that Netanyahu underwent surgery in April 2024 to repair a right inguinal hernia. Prior to the procedure, a full-body CT scan showed an enlarged prostate, small bladder stones and a bladder obstruction.

It also notes that Netanyahu undergoes routine colonoscopy screenings in line with standard guidelines for detecting precancerous growths, with his most recent colonoscopy showing normal results.

The report highlighted that Netanyahu underwent laser-assisted prostate gland removal in December of last year, with doctors confirming the tissue was benign and non-cancerous.

He continues to experience a urinary tract infection and is being treated with antibiotics.
