A student was allegedly repeatedlyrapedby a gang of four men over a period of around 10 months. It has been confirmed that the suspects have beenarrestedand remain in police custody while investigations continue.
It is reported the victim, a 19-year-old woman, first came into the contact with Aditya Shetke, 24, through his photography-related work. He reportedly took her to a secludedlakebefore photographing her and threatening to edit and circulate the pictures online. Shetke then introduced the college student to 29-year-old Ranjit Mudholkar who allegedly attacked her at various locations across theIndianstate of Maharashtra. He is also accused of taking sexual pictures of the victim and threatening to share them.
As reported by theLokmat Times, the victim was also raped by Pranavgiri Palkar, 24, and 22-year-old Vikram Patil. The former is alleged to have driven the woman to a lodge before raping her while the latter is also accused of sexually assaulting her.

After reportedly raping the victim, Patil is said to have continued to harass her. He allegedly told the woman he would delete the videos and photographs of her if she agreed to marry him.
The men also reportedly demanded money from the student in return for deleting the pictures. Reports suggest she did send money to Shetke, Mudholkar and Palkar in the hope that they would stop but the attacks continued for a number of more months.
It has been confirmed that the four men have since been arrested. They remain in police custody while the investigation, which is being led by Assistant Police Inspector Kranti Patil, remains ongoing.
Maharashtra, located in the western peninsular of India, is the country's second-most populous state with around 129 million people. According to local media, the woman was attacked in locations including Girgaon, Katyayani, Kolhapur and Pachgaon.
