Google has stirred the whole industry with the launch of its AI-powered search engine. While a lot of consumers are going to love it, we cannot deny that there is a majority that does not like the AI upgrade and is looking for alternatives. This is why DuckDuckGo saw a major spike in its user numbers. Now, DuckDuckGo has launched a new Anti-Google or Anti-AI browser extension.

The latest browser extension, which can be found on noaiduckduckgo.com, provides an AI-search free experience to the users. When a user switches it one, the extension shows them results presented without AI-generated summaries, extensive AI-created content, and chat prompts.

The firm behind the same also claims that they are planning to bring similar AI search controls to its Privacy Essential extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Edge in the coming months. In the last week, DuckDuckGo has witnessed a spike of 30 per cent week to week to its no-AI search page. Furthermore, the company also stated that 18.1 per cent rise also came in the installs of the application in the United States. On the other hand, the iOS app downloads spiked as much as 69.9 per cent in the mentioned time.

All this happened because Google has been killing publishers since the day AI overviews dropped, and remaining formalities were done as soon as it transformed Chrome. This has also fueled fury against Google in publishers as they could be dubbed one of the most affected ones with all these changes. All in all, the coming months are going to be crucial for Google as well as its competitors because the Anti-AI sentiment is also growing with each passing day. A collective approach towards this could be Google trying not to kill businesses with its updates and letting others grow in the AI age as well.
