Beauty influencerMikayla Nogueirais once again at the centre of online debate — this time over her voice. The social media personality recently fronted a campaign forL'Oréal Paris' new mascara, but eagle-eyed fans quickly claimed something was missing: her signature thick Boston accent.

Shortly after the advert went live, it was removed from L'Oréal Paris' social media platforms, fuelling speculation that the backlash over her 'non-existent' accent played a role.

Recently, L'Oréal Paris unveiledits newL'Oréal Extensionist Lengthening and Curling Washable Mascara, with makeup influencer Mikayla Nogueira as its face and the brand's spokesperson.

If you know Mikayla, you know that she fosters this deep overdramatic Boston accent. Not only is she tossing away the falsies, she temporarily lets the fake accent go. I would have a hard time believing anything that comes out of that woman's mouth. I guess Loreal wasn't feeling the fake vibes... Is the accent in the room with us??? It's so hard to be an influencer.#originalcharacter#fake#beautytips

Nogueira even shared the exciting news with her followers on TikTok, along with behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot.

However, as many of you know, what was meant to be an amazing advert for L'Oréal Paris' new mascara quickly fell under the prying eyes and ears of the internet, turning into a hotspot for controversy.

When the ad was posted, many pointed out that Noguera's thick Boston accent, which became her signature on her videos, is basically nonexistent in the new ad.

This small detail — or should we say slip-up — flooded the advert's comment section and allegedly prompted L'Oréal Paris to delete the video. The exact time it was removed from social media remains unclear.

The brand has not publicly addressed the controversy or confirmed the reason for deleting the advert. While many believe it was pulled due to criticism over the alleged accent change, others speculate that it may have been removed to prevent further escalation.

Although the video is no longer available on L'Oréal Paris' account, many users saved and reposted it. TikTok user Amanda Lynn (@pretty_petty1120) reshared the clip with the caption: 'If you know Mikayla, you know that she fosters this deep, overdramatic Boston accent. Not only is she tossing away the falsies, she temporarily lets the fake accent go.'
