Independent feature film “Walter’s Wish”, a Casual Crew production, written by Christopher Hackert, and directed by Ryan Lewis, celebrated a successful premiere at the South Bay Cinemas, drawing a sold-out audience of more than 150 attendees for its first public screening.

Writer Christopher Hackert is a local Long Island playwright who wrote Walter’s Wish back in 2016 and it premiered at a local Long Island community theater, South Shore Theatre Experience, which had its opening night on the same date 10 years ago, May 27th 2016. Director Ryan Lewis starred in the original stage production. The two collaborated on this project to bring Walter’s Wish to the cinema.

The film, which has been in the making for three years, was met with an enthusiastic response from the crowd throughout the evening. Audience members filled the theater with laughter and applause as cast, crew, family, friends, and supporters gathered to see the completed project on the big screen for the first time.

The premiere marked a major milestone for the filmmakers, whose years of dedication culminated in a memorable night of entertainment and community celebration. Following the screening, attendees praised the film’s humor and chaotic fun, while the packed house reflected the strong local support behind the production.
