Teen Kills Aunt Over Broken TV in Maharashtra: A 15-year-old boy allegedly killed his aunt, 60, over a trivial matter at her residence in Vasai, about 68 kms away from Mumbai. Police officials revealed that to cover up the crime, he tried to hide her body in a sofa with the help of his 15-year-old friend, but they could not lift it because it was too heavy for them. The 60-year-old victim, Durga Bansode, had brought her brother's son to her home in Vasai and was taking care of him. The incident came to light a day after when the victim's daughter, living in Boisar, could not reach her mother despite repeated attempts.
Police said both accused broke the victim's mobile phones to prevent anyone from contacting her. The worried and distressed daughter contacted her brother and asked him to check on their mother. According to Manikpur Police Station, "When the son arrived at the house, he found the main gate locked. Getting no response after knocking, he peeked through the window and was shocked. He saw his mother's feet lying on the floor, soaked in blood."

After being alerted, a team from Manikpur Police Station reached the spot but found the house sealed from the inside.
After a nearly the five-hour operation, they managed to enter through the bathroom window by removing a slab. Initial investigation revealed that multiple blows had been delivered to her head with a bamboo stick. Suspicion quickly fell on the woman's minor nephew, who lived in the same house. Police took both minors into custody and found the body under a sofa in the house. During sustained interrogation, the minor broke down and confessed to the murder. He also named his 15-year-old friend as an accomplice, claiming the friend helped him dispose of the body and destroy evidence.
According to police, the entire dispute started when the house's smart TV was buffering and taking time to start. Annoyed, the elderly woman scolded her nephew for not keeping things properly and not focusing on his studies. In a fit of rage from the argument, the boy picked up a stick. In anger, he struck his aunt's head three times forcefully. These powerful blows caused deep injuries to her head. She fell to the ground, and she died due to bleeding. The minors have been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
