Billionaire Tom Steyer’s lefty campaign staff — before cashing his checks — were brutally heckling the California governor hopeful in comments and tweets that have since been scrubbed from the internet, The California Post has learned.

Steyer, the billionaire-turned-populist who’s called for higher taxes on the rich, was a frequent punchline forone partner at The Fight Agency, the lefty campaign team that fueled New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s successful bid and recently signed him as a client.

“Mike Bloomberg and Tom Steyer should match, dollar for dollar, what they spend on their campaigns in donations to Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight Action and David Plouffe’s Acronym,” tweeted Fight Agency Partner Morris Katzin 2019,referring to progressive political initiatives from the top Dems.

Steyer, a Democratic financier and climate activist, launched a failed presidential bid in 2020 and has plowed some $38 million of his own fortune into his gubernatorial bid.

“At least we’ve still got Tom Steyer!” Katzsnarked in 2020in response to news that former Rep. John Delaney dropped his presidential bid.

Another blunt post suggested that Steyer and his fellow billionaire ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg should have dropped their bids ahead of a crowded primary debate in February 2020.

The Fight Agency is run by veterans of prior campaigns of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and others — with a focus on boosting working-class candidates with sharp messaging and compelling ads.

Partner Rebecca Katz has slammed billionaires in politics — once labeling Steyer’s self-funded 2020 bid as a “vanity project.”

“For the $100 million that Tom Steyer is planning to spend on this race, you could change the balance of every competitive state legislative chamber in America. Think about that for a second,” Katz fumed toTime Magazinein 2020.
